Bali is changing from year to year, tourists who were there two or more years ago experienced and saw something different than it is currently. Every year is more popular, many people see photos on Instagram or videos on Youtube and suddenly Bali becomes their dream destination.

 Why we chose Bali?

Since we decided to travel, Bali was interesting because of lower price of accommodation and food. I think for young people like us it is an excellent and cheap choice. Our plan was to spend one month in Bali and then go to Thailand for another one month as we did.

But we never thought we’d be back in Bali and we’d be there for another two months.

Our journey began in Nusa Dua. Through Airbnb, we found accommodation for the first two weeks, where we rented a scooter and every day we drove and got to know the surroundings.

Travelling, Bali, Island of Gods,                          Our scooter and the first week of exploring southern Bali.

For the third week we stayed in Ubud and the last week in Canggu.

Then we spent a month in Thailand and we wondered where we could go. Since we had no sponsor, we could not afford expensive destinations so we decided to go back to Bali. This time, we ask for another visa. What we did and we stayed there for another two months.

After arriving from Thailand in Bali we went straight to Nusa Penida Island where we spent two weeks. Then we stayed in Jimbaran for another two weeks. After the approval of the visa we decided to go again to Ubud where we were also two weeks and finally we were in Semyniak. After two weeks in Semyniak we returned to our home country in Slovakia.

The real truth about Bali

At the beginning of the journey, my feelings were mixed like any person, who comes there for the first time and doesn’t know what to except. For the first week I was one of the people who think Bali is a dirty country and I would never come back. But my feelings have changed over time. That’s why we stayed there for three months instead of one month.

Since we decided to travel not for a holiday, we chose the less tourist places where there are lower prices of accommodation. That’s why we came across places with more dirt on the roads and in the rivers. In more popular locations like resorts and hotels, they of course taking care of and cleaning it every day. So you won’t see any rubbish there or rarely.

To sum up, Bali has an incredibly beautiful nature, beautiful beaches. This island is a paradise for surfers, but in those less tourist spots you will surely find the trash.

Most tourists are staying close to the ocean and that’s why local people take care of the beaches.

The beaches in Bali are really crowded, so if you want to go to Bali only because you want to spend time on the beach. I don’t recommend Bali.

To be honest, I would never go to bali for a “beach vacation”. It’s the nature and rice fields that make Bali magical country and I can’t forget to mention the beautiful waterfalls that make Bali even more unique.

From my perspective, this is the real truth about Bali. I hope it will help you in your decision on whether to visit this country.
